Advancement Opportunities:
Over the last few years, Navisite has more than doubled in size as a company through multiple acquisitions. With hundreds of employees coming from different companies, Navisite has focused on implementing learning systems and training opportunities that not only help unite employees but also support their professional success. Today Navisite provides a number of mentoring and training programs for employees across different regions. One such program is Navisite’s COACH program, a mentoring initiative that pairs up employees worldwide based on specific criteria. The program is designed to help employees progress in their careers, strengthen relationships across borders, and network across departments. The program not only improves Navisite’s company culture by connecting employees to each other but gives them new opportunities to learn and grow.
Training Opportunities:
As a global company, it is important to celebrate our differences and help educate employees across countries and regions. For example, to strengthen cultural awareness and collaboration Navisite launched a series of companywide educational sessions highlighting each global region. The program kicked off with India, where Navisite’s leaders in India shared details on the country, local languages, culture and working methods to help employees better understand their counterparts in India. This program is being repeated in each region globally.
Community service/charitable causes:
A core piece of Navisite’s DNA is the #NaviGivesBack program, designed to give employees an opportunity to support causes close to their hearts. Navisite employees put #NaviGivesBack into action in multiple ways. For example, over the recent holiday, the South Central sales team supported Austin Police’s Operation Blue Santa by packing present boxes for families in need. At the beginning of the school year, Navisite helped underprivileged communities by providing school backpacks to low-income families throughout several cities in the U.S.
Navisite also launched its Steminist scholarship program in 2021. Each year, the program awards $10,000 in scholarships to three young women pursuing STEM degrees. Its goal is to help build an inclusive and diverse tech workforce and to close the gender gap. To further its commitment to supporting women across the globe, Navisite expanded the scholarship program to India in 2022.
Navisite is committed to removing barriers to careers in technology. In addition to the Steminist program, this year Navisite will also be supporting Resilient Coders, which is a Boston-based organization that provides hands-on training for people of color through 20-week coding boot camps.
Measuring satisfaction:
Navisite runs regular focus groups throughout various regions to get the voice of employees and understand their interests and concerns. Navisite has also conducted surveys to get employee input on areas of improvement and benefits, which has impacted and improved programs at the company.
Additionally, senior executives are currently conducting onsite visits to all offices globally to hear feedback and ideas from the members of each region. Less formally, all Navisite employees are encouraged to share their ideas or concerns with their managers or the leadership team at any time.
Work/Life:
With wellness and work-life balance being a top priority, Navisite is always looking for new ways to make that accessible for employees. As mentioned earlier, Navisite has come up with a number of innovative ways over the years to support work/life balance, such as You First Fridays. Navisite also recently launched an online wellness platform through Virgin Pulse, that employees can use to create a personalized well-being experience and help themselves get and stay healthy.
Perks:
Navisite offers membership to Virgin Pulse to all employees in all regions, where they can earn rewards and gift cards for healthy habits.
Fun:
Navisite leadership is always coming up with ways to bring employees together to have fun, both during the day and outside the office.
Throughout Navisite’s global office locations and virtually, Navisite teams regularly host various activities—from planned events and parties to spontaneous outings and virtual happy hours. One activity that has been a hit across Navisite recently is our “Get to Know Your Leadership” series. These are monthly virtual gatherings where different members of the leadership team are featured, enabling employees to get to know them on a more personal level. The best part is that these events often get everyone laughing, allowing people to put work aside and just have a good time together.
Navisite has also hosted companywide trivia events and cultural activities that align with country-specific celebrations.
How corporate vision is communicated:
Navisite leadership believes in keeping open and frequent lines of communication with employees. In addition to being accessible and approachable (as described above), Navisite leadership holds companywide meetings where they speak candidly about the company and encourage open dialogue throughout.
Company leaders also communicate regularly via emails, and various departments provide updates via regular newsletters. For instance, the Nsider, a monthly marketing newsletter, features everything from company updates, events and new collateral to other accomplishments and announcements.
The company also established a NaviVerse email alias to communicate companywide initiatives and events that fall under the NaviVerse cultural umbrella.
Empowering employees:
Navisite’s senior leadership prioritizes being accessible and approachable to anyone – throughout all levels of the company. By doing so, their goal is to encourage the type of collaboration and communication that’s needed to empower employees and spark innovation. The best testament to this is what employees are saying:
Howard Hecht, Navisite’s SVP of Customer Success
“One of the best things about Navisite’s culture is its “no agenda attitude.” No matter what someone’s title is, everyone rolls up their sleeves to help each other out for the common good of the company and for our customers. It’s not uncommon for our CEO or others on the senior leadership team to reach out directly to employees and visa-versa to check in on the status of a project or with a question, which demonstrates how open the communication lines are. Because of this barrier-free environment, Navisite has built a culture around being both agile and nimble.”
Kelsic Pross, Navisite’s Director of Marketing Operations and Business Development
“An impressive part of our culture is the support and recognition the senior leadership team gives to employees. They are never shy about calling people out in emails or on company calls for a job well done and are usually the first ones to chime in to give praise. In fact, there is always time dedicated to recognizing employees during company meetings.”
Navisite’s Steminist scholarship program was initially Kelsic’s idea. After bringing her idea to the table, Navisite leadership gave her the green light to run with it. Today, the program has awarded $60,000+ in scholarships to young women pursuing STEM degrees, highlighting the impact and empowerment Navisite employees are given to enact change.
Navisite has created Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) that empower employees to collaborate and enact change within the company. ERGs are voluntary, employee-led groups that foster a diverse, inclusive workplace. Since the program launched in 2022, the following ERGs have been established:
- Steminist (Women in STEM)
- Ally (LGBTQIA+)
- IPN (International Professionals of Navisite)
- POCIT (People of Color in IT)
Navisite is proud of the talent that exists within the company – and that means we love to celebrate team members’ accomplishments. Companywide communications are regularly sent from various managers congratulating employees on their promotions and other successes. Additionally, every company all-hands meeting recognizes individuals and teams for their accomplishments. This includes a #SoMuchGood award that highlights employee achievements. #SoMuchGood is at the core of everything Navisite does as a company and is another element of the NaviVerse culture.
Ensuring well-being:
Navisite’s NaviVerse extends in the physical form to offices around the globe. From Pittsburgh to India and beyond, Navisite has rebranded its offices to represent our commitment to the NaviVerse culture and ethos. The rebrand has helped create a sense of connection and pride in our offices—the designs have inspired many photos of the ‘NaviDab’!
Navisite has several initiatives designed to promote employee well-being and provide employees with the necessary tools to do so. As mentioned earlier, You First Fridays (#YFFs) give employees Friday afternoons off to unplug and recharge. Navisite’s Virgin Pulse program helps employees create a personalized well-being experience to get and stay healthy.
Navisite also launched another wellness program that consists of monthly webinars. These sessions cover a range of topics including tips for reducing stress, preventing burnout, healthy cooking, smoking cessation and much more. And it’s not just leadership taking the lead on wellness. Navisite’s India team has also launched weekly online yoga sessions. Not only do these sessions serve as another opportunity for Navisite employees to practice wellness, but it’s an example of the NaviVerse culture growing and encouraging all team members to contribute their ideas and passions.
| Closing company statements:
Navisite has invested heavily in building an organization with global capabilities and resources that can not only support the needs of our customers but provide unique and exciting opportunities for our employees to grow and develop professionally. |
